| Customer Reviews: as of June 2010, this is a great rack - other reviewers must have gotten something different June 7, 2010 Some Guy 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rack arrived promptly and was super easy to put together, even without instructions. That would be my only real gripe, that there were no instructions.
That being said, it was very easy to just look at the picture and assemble. There is only so much hardware and each piece can only go one place, so no biggie.
The main pieces of wood are sturdy enough for sure - the hands and feet of it are just a little less so in their connection, but overall, once put together, it has a pretty solid feel.
For the price you just can't beat it. If you've looked at other quilt racks or men's butlers or other type of valet furniture, then you know you can't touch a bigger piece for under $80. I use this to hang clothes that I'm going to wear again on, so if I plan to wear a pair of shorts the next day, but need to switch to jeans for the nighttime, that's what I do. It works great, and the cherry wood finish matches all of my other cherry furniture.
Highly recommend.
eventually satisfied February 24, 2010 K. MURPHY Ordered on 1/17, received 1/24 & 1 of the posts were defective; called Powell & they shipped out part; unfortunately it didn't match up with the others; had to send the whole thing back; received a new one on 2/12; product OK - matches bedroom set; good customer service; It would have been better if 1st rack was OK.
Nice enough for the price July 4, 2008 S. Proulx 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am happy with this product. For only $30, the one I received was built well enough and I was able to put it together easily enough. The only problem I had was that towards the end, I needed someone to hold it while I completed the attachment; otherwise, the bars kept falling down. It has proved to be sturdy enough to hold my queen-sized comforter. Of course, I am not bumping into it or constantly removing the comforter so it suits my purposes just fine. I also like the way you can weave the blanket down through the third bar so that there is room for an extra decorator pillow(s). Since I needed it more for show and a place for the comforter, I am unable to speak about its durability, but it looks nice and did not cost $80 - $100 or more, like so many of them.
Don't buy November 17, 2007 Eugene J. Weinschenk (Greensburg, PA) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
This is a very cheap,Chinese-made, waste of money. The wood is so thin that it split while trying to assemble. Instructions are printed on rice paper and the parts are mislabeled. Based upon the my experience with this product, I will neve buy another product from this company.
You get what you pay for! January 28, 2010 B. Staley (NC) I purchased this blanket rack and am very disappointed with it. When I received this in the mail on of the legs was drilled incorrectly. I called the Powell company for a replacement part. They sent the replacement part but the groves in the leg did not match notches that were supposed to slide into the grove. Now it still can't be assembled. I was mad and decided instead of calling them again and having another part sent I would force it to fit. (I don't recommend doing this, but in the heat of the moment I must say I did it anyway.) Anyway, I would just recommend buying a different blanket rack. This one is a waste of time and money. I always say this and I just found another example demonstrating the truth: You get what you pay for!
